Sizing FAQ:
How do I determine my proper size?
All of our styles are true to size; however, each unique silhouette differs numerically.
You can expect to take a different sizeway for Sabahs, Turkish made backless Babas, & El Paso made Babas. You can view the exact style type on the relevant product page.
We recommend selecting the numerical size that directly corresponds to your typical EUR/US shoe size in the drop down menu on each specific product page.
We certainly understand that juggling various numbers, sizes, & fits can feel daunting at first, so please do not hesitate to drop us a line for guidance & support!
Why do Sabahs & Babas differ in numerical fit?
Our Sabahs (full shoe) and Babas (backless slide) fit differently as denoted on the sizing chart on each product page.
For Turkish made Babas, we recommend selecting +1 numerical size in from your ideal fit in Sabahs.
Please, also note - There is a sizing difference between our Turkish made & El Paso Made Babas.
There are El Paso specific sizing charts on the relevant product pages.
How long will it take to break in my Sabahs?
The time frame for fully breaking in Sabahs can range from a few days, to a week, to about a month.
This depends on how often you wear them, the initial fit, the type of leather, and on the unique elements of your own feet.
That said, Sabahs should start to open up after a few wears.
If you need any support throughout this process, drop our team a note. We are always more than happy to chat & assist!
I can feel the stitching of my Sabahs under my feet. Is that normal?
Indeed -- some individuals will notably feel the insole stitching, and they may even find it uncomfortable at first.
However, the channel stitching is covered with a thin coating of beeswax that gradually softens & compresses to become unnoticeable in a short time.
If a single stitch falls in a funny spot under the toe or foot, we recommend inserting a thin pair of insoles to quickly mitigate any irritation.
My toes press the front ends firmly in my pair. Is that okay?
It is exactly what we are looking for!
For an ideal fit, we want your toes touching the front ends firmly WITHOUT curling.
This initial tightness is to accommodate for the stretching that will occur as your pair breaks in.
My heel slips slightly when I walk about. Should I size down?
Not necessarily -- slight heel slippage is completely normal. The lining of your Sabahs is 100%-natural leather, so it will garner a nice grip with wear.
That said, if you can fit a full finger's width behind your heel (with your toes pressing the front ends), that is an indicator that the pair is too large.
