Once or twice a year, we like to set up our traveling Sabah residency at imogene + willie.
imogene + willie, which occupies an old service station in Nashville, makes high quality denim jeans & apparel. Denim was the family business for generations, which continued when imogene + willie opened its doors in 2009. They do denim with a focus on expert tailoring and the highest quality raw materials. Much like Sabah, i+w is a world -- a space to enjoy music, gather with friends, and hopefully find a few thoughtfully made clothing pieces to do all of that in!
During our most recent residency, we combined Sabah's approach to dressing with imogene + willie's in the form of a style guide. The result was a few different looks — put together by Diego (from Sabah) and Brandy + Chappy (from i+w) — featuring i+w’s collection of denim and apparel alongside our most classic Spring Sabahs.
Brandy (@brandyzdan), Chappy (@itschappymusic) and Diego (@_diegodemaria) are all talented musicians with their own unique style and Emily (@equirk), who photographed the style guide, is a local photographer born and raised in Nashville. Emily worked her magic behind the lens, while Diego, Chappy, and Brandi served up some classic Americana outfits to inspire us for spring. Kelsey, i+w's Tailor Shop Manager, even stepped in for a few finishing touches... making sure the cuffs and hems were just right!

Imogene + willie is known for their modern take on vintage 30s-50s cuts and their attention to detail. Kelsey, i+w's Tailor Manager, taught us proper cuffing and hemming techniques that allow for more personalization. Raw hem, double hem... there's more than way to do it well!

Great styling comes down to the layers, which is something we keep in mind during our Sabah travels! Packing efficiently means bringing along a few items you can use to layer and create different looks -- a couple tees, a vest, a lightweight jacket and great pair of denim.
