Return

Around this time last year, we started experimenting with the idea of a more refined take on our classic Sabah silhouette. We tapped our highly skilled El Paso team to take on this project.

We'd add a heel and employ a method of shoemaking that would result in a clean edge & sole (i.e. no exposed side stitching). We'd produce this shoe meticulously. It needed to be extremely refined as this new style would be worn to the finest of soirees, before being dressed casually around town the next day.

We'd use only leather (nothing synthetic) and source the finest -- buttery soft, high quality full grain European hides for the upper and lining. The black leather would have a hard waxed tannage giving it a subtle polish. The custom double-stacked heel & outsole would come from a storied sole tannery in León, Mexico, where they are stained jet black after being processed for 60 days using chestnut, quebracho and other natural tannings. Like any of our footwear, this new shoe would be resoleable because it's made to last & very comfortable, so we expect you're going to wear them a lot.  Finally, we'd call it the  Bolo -- a nod to the type of tie worn, in certain circumstances, to formal events in the American Southwest. Casual & cool, yet elegant. Enjoy!

Bolo Goes To London.

It was only fitting that the Bolo made its worldwide debut in London -- a city that we think of with an elegant & refined style and where we believed the Bolo would fit right in.

We wore them for a full day of walking the city - comfortable & sturdy.

On The Sabah Portal.
