Meet the Maker: Los Tejedores
Ari (from the Sabah team) met Natalia and Ricardo during a visit to Santo Domingo, where they hosted her at their little pink casita. They spent the whole day drinking mango juice, jamming to Ricardo playing the drums (he is also a percussionist!) and learning about their journey with Los Tejedores — which means ‘the weavers’ in Spanish.
Los Tejedores is focused on linking weaving traditions with natural materials and a contemporary design. Working in Santo Domingo with both Dominican and Haitian artisans, their aim is to support the weaving community of the Island… acting as a platform to broaden the craft.
