$150Chintan Indigo Shirt by KARDO
The Chintan Shirt is a medium weight, open collar shirt with a boxy fit. We especially love this Indigo checkerboard block print, adorned with hand Kantha stitch detailing and a bird embroidery. The fabric was hand printed with natural indigo by Suraj Narain Titanwala, a renown block printer in Rajasthan, who is a 4th generation block printer and learned his trade from his father Govind Narain. The hand Kantha stitching was done by Meera Devi, his wife. The hand embroidered bird is called a Barbet that frequents Delhi in Spring and is an homage to one that visited the home of KARDO’s founder everyday over the first lockdown in India in March 2020. KARDO creates handmade contemporary clothing, hand-crafted with minute detailing— designed in and produced from their workshop in New Delhi, India. They celebrate their craftsmen, conveying that it is not about WHERE your clothing comes from, but rather WHO made it, and under what conditions. You will find a tag on each garment highlighting the hands involved in the making of each unique piece.
