Our chart takes into account Sabahs should fit snug as they will stretch. If you are between sizes, we suggested sizing up for women and down for men.

Nanao Set by Takazawa Candle - Set of 5 $68

Takazawa Candle has been making candles from plants -- such as the fruits of the sumac tree, rice bran, and rapeseed flower oil -- since 1892. Sumac wax in particular became the standard material for candle-making in Japan due to the soft and easy way it forms into the shape of a candle. The wick of these candles causes a flame that is bigger and brighter than most candles, which encourages a relaxing atmosphere that is bright enough to spend time with your family and close friends. Sabah carries the NANAO set, which includes five different candles, all with a motif of a different plant that grows in the Noto Peninsula.

Sabah Souvenirs: From Our Travels

This past year we didn’t travel at all, but we chose three travel destinations that share a connection with Sabah, and curated items we would have brought back from each of those places: New York City, Texas and Japan.

The item you are viewing is sourced from our travels in Japan, a place we appreciate for the hospitality and service, the gastronomy scene and more. There's nothing like walking the streets of Tokyo, discovering store after store and witnessing their meticulous and ingenious merchandising skills. There is an appreciation and respect for both ceremony, but also craft. We hope to return soon.

In the meantime, we've curated (among other items) plant-based candles from Takazawa, indigo kimonos and a book called Wabi-Sabi which has greatly influenced our approach at Sabah. Visit the Sabah Journal to learn more.
