Spanish-Mexican designer, Maria Romero, is the owner of Tintorería, a small-scale, natural-dye kitchen named after the popular dye houses that have existed throughout Latin America and Spain. Tintorería is located in Hudson, New York and partners with local restaurants and farms to gather their dye materials.
In 2021, El Closet was launched -- Tintorería’s evolving capsule collection, made with comfort and quality in mind. El Closet’s hand-dyed pieces are released only a few times a year, focusing on quality over quantity, and items that wear with you over the years.
These garments are made from natural materials and fibers with flexibility and function in mind, such as recycled cotton twills, organic hemp, lyocell and biodegradable products. All of Tintorería's pieces are handmade by talented and vetted seamstresses.
